Weekly Update #6

I finally got my new laptop, and it seems pretty good. The main thing I was concerned about was portability, and it has met my expectations, so I should be able to put in more time inbetween classes for translation.

I've been jumping all over scenes and haven't come across any one that is remarkable enough to be written about here. Oh, and I'm still fighting vigirously with that Issei-Mitsuzuri relationship scene, but I have made some progress on that also.

The first half of next week seems to be hectic for me, but I should have some free time in the latter half.
Oh, and I appreciate your thoughts and input in the comments page. Please feel free to tell me what you want to see in the entries and whatnot.

  1. Yeah, I'm translating a light novel at the moment myself, so a laptop definitely helps. If you need any help with translating/editing/proofreading, again, feel free to ask in your blog and I'm sure people will respond. I'm willing to help.

  2. Thousands of non-japanese speakers are out there. Think of the Fame you will gain on the internet. Amukunau, Hero of the Translators! GLORY IS THERE! Thanks for translating this.

  3. In response to your last line, rough percentages are always helpful, I find. Any sort of quantitative statistics on your translation makes everyone feel like they're really with you in terms of actual progress.

  4. Thanks for the update. As for what to put in updates, I would have to agree with uberlegen. By slapping a percentage onto the equation, more often than not people will actually get a sense of progress being made, so that would definitely be a good choice.

  5. I'd like to see the number of scenes translated vs not.
    Is that possible?

  6. I agree with Nopleaseno, I'd love to see the number of scenes translated and the number left to go.

  9. Truth be Told I really respect you for doing this. The scene I want the most is probably either the Kaleido Ruby chest incident or the Taiga Quizes since they help unlock a few more scenes.

  11. Hows about weekly updates every week, on a specific day? Progress or not, it'd be better to know that you're still out there. I say this since the last update was like, two weeks ago. We're all very eager for this patch, and no amount of praise or thanks is going to mean a thing to you if we're not going to help. Even though I have no Japanese knowledge, if you could use someone to double check the English grammar, I'd be happy to oblige.

  12. Thanks for your effect/time in translating.
Would be nice if there were a percentage to the progress since it would give us an idea on the completion.
Just a suggestion, maybe you could do what mirror moon did, by doing the translations by routes?

  13. I would prefer fewer spoilers in updates, if possible.

Otherwise, keep up the good work.

  15. Hey, I've been very interested in this translation project and was thinking that I might be able to help if you could tell me which files you want me to work on.

  16. To Amukunau: So... I did a little bit of tinkering around myself but I realized that I don't know how to insert translations and image edits back into the game orz.. Do you have any ideas?
