Requesting help on translating!

Hello, guys, I've been talking with delta, and we decided that I need some help on translating the sequel with school kicking my butt and all.

We're still thinking about how to manage dividing and compiling the workload, but I'm sure we will come up with a solution soon.

Please reply here if you would like to help.

Thank you very much, everyone, and thank you for your support!

  1. I can help if you don't mind babelfish translating most of it.

But I think there are far better people than myself.

    Good Luck Guys!

  2. Koreanfag here.

If it's Korean -> English, I can help.

  3. Perhaps I can help if it's just a translation task. Fluent in both Korean and English here.

  4. I can do Jap-> English. I have my own copy if you need my help. Although I won't be able to do ALOT of work having school myself.

  5. I'm afraid the only thing I can really do is proof read... Probably not much use.

  6. I'd love to help. I can translate from Japanese->English. I'm pretty confident with my skills, and I have good sources/friends if I ever have any trouble.

  7. I'm afraid my Japanese isn't quite on a level to translate a Visual Novel but if you need any help with Quality Checking of the translated stuff I would be glad to help.

  8. This is a good idea, branching out like this. Hopefully you can find the help you need.

  9. Fluent Korean here. Been living in New Zealand (since a toddler) for 17 years now...
But I can only help after my uni exams (finishing on the 7th of November).

Will be happy to help with this, since I don't really do much in the holidays!!!

  10. Forgot to mention, I do speak fluent English. I do read and speak Korean, but do sometimes come across words I don't get; have a Korean to English dictionary on hand so no problems I guess ^_^

  11. I can't help with translating, but I have free time available to help with editing and proofreading if you need assistance.

  12. I cant translate either but I wouldn't mind proof reading.

  13. (I *meant* to make this post in this blog rather than your last one- sorry for double-posting.)

You are golden. Thank you very, very much for all your hard work already given and all your hard work to come in translating this game so that rabid fans of the Fate series like myself can enjoy the series as much as you can.

Out of curiousity- are you in need of a proof-reader, or do you/your coder have that handled?

  14. Haha, same here. I can't help with translation, but I am willing to help with proof-reading. I have a lot of free time anyway, being on sembreak after all.

In any case, thanks again to the time and hard work you have dedicated on this.

  16. Well, I guess I cannot be help with translating, but I guess I'm able to do something with technical issues (if there are any). Since it's still kirikiri engine (same as F/sn) I shall have no problems with it.

Also - thanks for your hard work and I hope that one day project will be acomplished. (^_-)//

  17. Woow, there a lot of skilled people))) I can't provide any help, but I can do (a)moral support XDDDD.

Sure this collaboration do translating much faster than two people... and, of course, there Korean/Japan/English comparing needed, to keep as much as possible TYPE-MOON text style and spirit.

http://multiple-option.blogspot.com/2008/03/fatehollow-ataraxia-prologue.html here lies English DS Prologue of FHA, if you have not seen this, do it now. A hour of pure Hollow Ataraxia guaranteed.

  18. Well, I speak a little japanese, but not nearly enough to translate something like this. But if you need a proof-reader for the english translated text, I'd be happy to help.

  19. I'm fine with Jap -> English. And I can proofread too. Actually it's better to have proofreaders who know the source language so they can check that everything went across smoothly.

Consult the Type-Moon wiki to standardize your translations, since a lot of the magic and Noble Phantasm terms can be ambiguous in their meanings.

  20. Instead of type-moon wiki, consider Fuyuki instead?

  21. Thank God. This project should go a lot smoother and quicker if you bring new people in. I'm afraid I can't be of any help translating, but like a lot of people if there is anything else that I can do, I would gladly help. Proofread, beta test, ect.

People should try and advertise this move on places like Mirror Moon and Beast's Lair and see if people from over there would like to help.

  22. I can't really help you (don't know enough japanese yet), but I'll always be here to cheer for you, your effort won't go unnoticed.

  23. I hope you find a translator that is willing to take on a task such as translating Nasu script which I hear is annoying as hell. As well as being knowledgeable in the Nasuverse terminology... Sadly I cannot be of any help though.

But you already knew this anyways eh? So good luck with your schoolwork. We're grateful at least that you sacrificed much of your free time to start and offer a translation to the public.

  24. i cant help at al... only fluent in english... so i have an idea, which may or may not be great but u can try posting a help request on an anime site, or an H site... depends on what u want
since i suppose a lot of anime watchers would be asian or good at Asiatic languages

  25. You might want to speak with the staff over at mirrormoon. They've said before that they wouldn't translate Hollow Ataraxia as long as there was an active project already in progress, but if you're asking them for assistance then it's likely that they'd help. They already have the Nasu-speak down, and I'm pretty sure they have a few people who have played through the game in Japanese already.

  26. Could you post some samples of the writing to be translated?

Also, what about a wiki-style approach to the translation? Integrating the work of many contributors would be a pain, but it should still be faster than relying on only one or two over-worked volunteers.

  27. I asked mirrormoon and their latest response (a few minutes old) is the same - no. They have their reasons which I will gladly respect, and hopefully everyone will do likewise.
Just a reminder though - I'm a full blood Korean speaking fluent English - I am able to help with this translation project (but only after the 7th Nov)

  28. Many thanks for your efforts in this project Amukuna. Unfortunently I can only help with proof reading, and there are more then enough applicants for that postion. But still, if you need more help in that department I am ready willing and able. English isn't my first language but I have been studying it for the better part of a decade and have passed Cabridge ESOL's most advanced certificate:CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English).
Keep up the good work. :)

  29. I do Chinese-English translations and have a collection of scenes already translated. If you want me to help you can find my contact on my blog or something. Look for yourself if I'm qualified or not.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm still learning Japanese myself, but don't mind helping any way I can. Whether it be proof reading or whatever. Catch my gmail bargadiel@gmail.com if you want.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I can proofread like nobody's business, whether you want spelling or grammar corrections. Even small things the damn spellcheckers miss. I do have prior experience as well from working for a manga scan team.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Woooo...everyone can read a different language T_T as for me, i can only speak chinese, not read, so the only thing i am of any use is for proof reading and motivational support!

jokes aside, everyone here, as well as a great many others are really appreciative of all the work you have put into this project, and regardless of how you go about translating this, we will all continue to support you!
