Monthly Update #2

Hello, guys. Sorry for the lack of updates. School started, and I got sick not too long after that.

Yes, this project is taking a lot more time than I expected, and to get it to you guys in any reasonable amount of time, I am rethinking my strategy. I'm going to try to talk with delta about possible solutions.

I really do wish I could get the patch out to you guys in as short amount of time as possible, but so many things are keeping me away from the project.

I'm hoping to have another update sooner than later with the frequency in-between the updates shorter.

Thanks a lot for cheering me on!

  1. Well, just the fact it's gonna be out is enough for me :P As long as I don't die of old age before it's released, of course :D

  4. I disagree. with the above posts, though I know they're just being supportive. If you realistically don't believe you'll be finishing this within a reasonable time frame, I think you should definitely get some assistance. It's a tremendous task for one person to take on as a side project, so I feel that getting some help or even dumping part of the project onto someone else is quite practical.

  5. "I really do wish I could get the patch out to you guys in as short amount of time as possible" <- don't do that. Remember you're doing this because you want it. It's not like you get paid. I'm assuming that if you're doing this, it's because either you enjoy it, or you want people to enjoy the game as much as you did. That will be hard if you think of yourself as being 'under pressure'. Just remember: quality > speed
But I'm guessing you know that already :p

Sorry for my bad english, and don't give up, Amukunau <3

  6. Well, I don't particularly care when it's completed, take your time. Just don't leave us hanging too much, okay?

  7. Hmm, how about you hire another translator for minigames? Since it doesn't related with the main story so there is no problem if "the style" is difference.

  8. Hmm... doctor, he have a pulse))) Weak pulse)

    Agree with first post.

It's will be a new "Duke Nukem Forever" XDDD

But we have no choice... seat and waiting.

    Stay tuned!

That is actually a really good idea...just a thought xD yea i kinda agree with the first post, don't push yourself if you know you can't do it, but i'd rather not you spend the rest of your life translating this bit by painful bit T_T

  10. Take your time. Better long and without mistakes than short and full of mistakes. Just Keep It up und show us that you are still alive :D

  11. Keeping the style consistent is really the editor's job, not the translators'. With that in mind, there's no good reason not to get help if this is overwhelming you (since this game is huge).

  12. I guess I'm willing to agree with whatever plan Ama and Del choose to work with, since they know they project and have been working on it long enough to find a good pace.

Long or short, quick or slow; whenever we get the first release we'll be more than delighted and never scornful.

  14. Ganbare!!!! Please oh please do not abandon ship... We are all behind you, Amukunau.... ^^

  15. take it easy, don't give up, you don't have to care about time, as long as you continue to translate when you can, it's better than nothing

  16. Take your time, what you're doing is really great, allowing us (non-japanese speakers) to play this game and even more, for free.
while I am taking japanese classes for almost 2 years now, I realize it will take much longer before I'll be able to play a visual novel, so, until then I'm counting on you. ^^
In other words, keep it up. \o/

  17. You can do it! Don't give up! We're counting on you~ (no pressure, I could wait another year if I must, maybe two)

  18. While I am cheering you on, I don't really fully agree with some of the above posts. While it is true that having only one person translating can help preserve consistency, surely it wouldn't be THAT difficult to maintain consistency amongst 2 people? 3 might be pushing it, but still manageable?

  19. I think that taking a few others on board is a good idea... Especially for the minigames as tes mentioned. Having said that, quality over speed all the way.

But as with all of us, I will only be cheering you on.

  20. I for one would rather get it a while from now than never at all. Don't worry about release date, you're already doing Type Moon's non-japanese speaking fans a huge service for basically no reward besides props. Take all the time you need.

  21. I think a little bit help can't be bad, if the help have really the know how.

You could still work on the main plot and another person on the other parts (like minigames and so on).

@Amukunau, how much do you think you have approximate translate? An answer on your next update would be really nice for the fans. ;)

I think ambitions would you help more by the process, so i hope you will enjoy the work more and fnish this project as fast as possible. ;)

    Keep it up!

  22. I would rather wait another year than see you burn out and give up on this entirely. I check the blog daily to see if there are any updates. You are a golden god.

  23. We'll continue to cheer for as long as it takes! :) Thanks a ton, we're all supporting you!

  24. You are golden. Thank you very, very much for all your hard work already given and all your hard work to come in translating this game so that rabid fans of the Fate series like myself can enjoy the series as much as you can.

Out of curiousity- are you in need of a proof-reader, or do you/your coder have that handled?
